A trip back to almost 1 year ago for the Wedding of Hilary and Kieren in Malaga! We helped bring to life their dream of a wedding in Spain. Just 1 of the 3 Weddings they had across the globe!!
We first met Hilary and Kieren on warm Autumn day in 2016. Our first port of call was a Malaga Wedding Venue and from here we visited Wedding Venues along the Costa del sol and on to the Costa de la Luz. After lunch in Jerez (an amazing lunch at one of our secret favourite places to take clients), our day ended with Coffee in Vejer de la Frontera with views across to the Sierra de Cadiz. We always try to guess which weddign Venues the clients will go for and in truth this time we got it completely wrong! When they confirmed a Castle in Malaga we were shocked but delighted to as its a Wedding Venue that we love and know works really well. Great food, efficient and great service and do die for views of the sea!!
So from confirming one of our favourite Venues on to their wedding planning. Our first step is always to confirm key suppliers, those that get booked up early. We understand that in the UK or the US you have endless quality suppliers available to you, but here in Spain the community to serve an English speaking audience is much smaller so we have to work quickly and efficiently. We have spent the past, almost 5 years vetting and qualifying wedding vendors to work out the quality, reliability, who are the long stayers! After all you don’t want to book a Vendor who then moves back to the UK! One of the benefits of being so involved with the wedding community here, is that we are able to share knowledge between us and therefore if there are any problems with any vendors we are informed by our colleagues right away, we can share experiences and recommended to each other suppliers that are amazing and well worth booking!
So, Key suppliers all booked we then start to organise the couples next Spain Visit. To avoid you having to spend all of your wedding Budget visiting us multiple times, we always recommend 2 visits in total. One for Venue search and one for Menu Tasting, Hair and Make up trial, meeting the wedding celebrant etc… Most of the wedding co-ordination is done over email and you will meet most people such as Photographers, Videographers, DJ’s on email, if you require a Video call then that can be arranged but it isn’t always necessary. One of the main benefits of hiring a wedding planner is that you can reply on us to do all of the leg work, all communication, booking of the suppliers, wedding day briefing etc..
From this stage onward we start to finalise all wedding details, work with you on Designing your wedding day and finally arriving at your wedding day fully prepared and ready to create the best day of your lives!!
Here’s what Hilary and Kieren had to say about us:

The Boutique Wedding Co. were excellent, an embodiment of a professional and personal service. To truly understand this, let me share a small exert of our day:
It was an August morning in Spain and we had planned an almost entirely outdoors event. Despite over a decade of scorching hot sun during this month of the year; as we peeled back the curtains – nothing but cloudy skies were in sight. A quick message from Lucy read: “Happy wedding morning! Looking forward to the wonderful day ahead!” – not a mention of the grim skyline. What I didn’t know at the time was that Lucy and Jesus were furiously brainstorming back-up plans should the threatening sky unleash. As the morning turned to afternoon, the weather had not improved. Whilst my bridesmaids and I were busy getting ready, Lucy had already racked up 10,000 steps on her fitness tracker and had been navigating the army of vendors that had arrived – sorting various pieces out whilst keeping everything undercover. All the while, keeping me calm and ensuring that the day was going to be great. The rain continued. When Lucy had to broach the subject of the weather – she did so with grace and reassurance – not any easy conversation to have with clients. We had decided to keep it outside. Once we had made that decision, not once did Lucy try to talk us out of it or make us feel nervous. She was soothing and comforting. As it happened, shortly after we made the decision to stay outside, the rain stopped. Whilst the weather was calm, my nerves were not. As I became increasingly nervous – Lucy was there on hand reassuring me. Whilst this would usually be the role of the bridesmaids or mother of the bride, Lucy was truly the expert – without her, I wouldn’t have had any mascara left on. Needless to say the rest of the day was a success, truly a testament to the Boutique Wedding Co. – Thank you so much for creating the most memorable day of our lives.
Thank you to Eloy and Aleks for the Beautiful Images!
