Glamorous Wedding in Vejer de la frontera

For Graham and Siân we created the most glamorous wedding in Vejer de la Frontera. When they first got engaged they decided they would like a wedding in the Sun, surrounded by their closest friends, family and loved ones! As their parents have a villa in Southern Spain, it was really a simple decision for them.

Finding a Wedding Venue for Graham and Siân was such a pleasure, as soon as I had shown them our venue, in Vejer de la Frontera they were completely head over heals in love with it and their was no turning back. We arranged for them to view a handful of other venues too (just to be sure), but for them nothing could complete with the rustic charm of the wedding venue or the area. We showed  the Village and our favourite places to eat and there was no going back.

One of our favourite things to do when we take our clients on wedding venue tours is to show them the local areas too, we obviously love living and working here in Southern Spain and are always so keen to share this with them! It always works so well and our clients appreciate the inside knowledge on the area they are planning to marry in.

From our very first call we really clicked and the whole planning process was really enjoyable! Over many visits to Spain, we got to know Graham and Siân really well and creating their dream day with lots of quirky personalised elements was so much fun! It really was a wedding weekend to remember for eternity!

I am a stickler to working to briefs, I believe its really important to deliver what the client expects BUT in order to do that well it is so important to ask questions and listen hard, take a good brief! So during planning I am always going back to my notes and I love looking back at their first contact with us to ensure we are moving in the right direction. On first enquiry Graham and Siân  had said they would like – A charming, rustic villa setting close to a pretty village or town. We would like rooms on-site for some guests and good options nearby for other guests. We would like a 3 day event, starting with dinner and drinks on the Friday eve (not at the venue) and ending with a bbq/paella on the Sunday. Food and drink is really important to us, so high quality catering is a must! This is exactly what we delivered and what could be more perfect for anyone than a glamorous wedding in Vejer de la Frontera!!

Some words from Graham and Siân-

Planning a wedding abroad is daunting prospect, finding Lucy and Jesus at the Boutique Wedding Co was the best thing we could have done. From our first exploratory Skype call with Lucy, I knew that no one else would do. Lucy made you feel instantly calm, really listened to what you wanted and, critically, did not try to fit you in to a pre-prepared ‘package’ wedding. Alongside this, Lucy has a fantastic eye for detail, is incredibly creative and created and styled the most beautiful wedding we could ever have hoped for. Spanish Mountain Lake Wedding

Eleanor and Killian are a gorgeous fun loving couple from Ireland who had dreamed of a beautiful, rustic wedding in Spain! We began their wedding planning journey with them back in early 2016!! 18 Months of planning and preparations culminated into a romantic day day set with the stunning back drop of the Grazalema Lakes! For Spain standards it was hot but with plenty of refreshments the couple and their guests barely seemed to notice!

Eleanor and Killian made for an incredibly beautiful and photogenic couple! We are absolutely crazy about these amazing images. Eloy and Alex worked so hard to capture all of the special details that we had the privileged opportunity to create for them!

Some words from Eleanor and Killian-

Thank you both, from the bottom of our hearts, for all the emails, skype calls, visits, telephone calls and whatsapp messages in the quest to organise our Big Day!

The day itself was magical – the decor was everything we imagined and more, the setting so beautiful with the lake and mountains in the background, the sun setting as we sat down to dinner; everybody was in awe! I know we had to battle severe heat, extra parasols, gallons of water, delays and the tedious job of ‘herding’ Irish people from one area to another – no mean feat (!) but you pulled it off in style!  The welcome signs, table plan and directions board were so creative.  the flowers were so so beautiful, the table settings with the personalised name cards and rosemary sprigs was divine, candles everywhere, the food was delicious, the lighting was perfect, the band were magical and the DJ brought the house down!!

All in all, we owe a massive thank you to you both – like I said in my speech, every flower, petal, chair etc was individually placed by you both and it was everything I (we!) could ever have imagined. On top of all that, the organisation and admin that had been undertaken behind the scenes from organising flowers, photographers, videographers, venues, catering, busses (including Jesus pulling a bus permit for Ronda out of the bag!), taking care of all costings, furniture, band, DJ, etc etc – the list goes on and on. THANK YOU!

The paella the next day was also a massive hit – setting up in the courtyard was fantastic, the food once again beautiful !!!

All in all, you were both fantastic, I would recommend you to anyone looking for a wedding planner in Spain!

I’m so sad that our wedding is over – it truly was the best day of our lives – but I’m also sad that we won’t be in weekly catch ups with you guys.  I know we won’t have to be emailing about wedding admin but we would very much like to keep in touch with you both.

Love Elle and Killian

Thank you to Aleksandra and Eloy from Eloy Munoz Photography for the beautiful images!

Spanish Mountain Wedding

Matthew and Melanie chose the beautiful Villa Bermeja in Southern Spain for their August Wedding in 2016, a Spanish Mountain paradise. It was an amazingly warm and fun family day with 50 adults and 30 children! Gathering together their nearest and dearest friends and family, Matthew and Mel had a wedding week to remember forever!

Lets Talk Weddings- Wedding Catering

Let’s talk Weddings … Aspects to consider before you contract the right catering provider for your wedding in Spain.

Now that you have found your wedding venue, next element on your list, is to make sure you get a capable catering company to cover all the food and drink needs of your wedding day.

Where do you begin? A good start is to congratulate yourself for having the freedom to choose. Often venues come with their own in-house catering and you have no choice but to accept them, if you want the venue. Just like marrying your lovely partner but having to put up with the annoying in-laws.

If you are in this situation, there is really little you can do at this stage. You are stuck with them for good and for bad. Finger crossed it’s good.

Remember that if you have not laid down the deposit on the venue yet, you can still taste the food before you do so. Ask for a menu tasting appointment and decide afterwards. Many contractors allow this as it is totally understandable. You are not only choosing a place where to marry but also the food and drinks of your wedding. Just bear in mind you may be charged for the tasting.

You wouldn’t buy a car without test driving it, would you? If after the menu tasting you are not convinced just inform them and walk away. Feedback is what makes this industry better each year.

So, let’s go back to having the choice, now that you feel lucky, let me help you a little bit with your choice.

These are some aspects that perhaps did not occur to you.

Local is better.

Check catering companies nearby your venue. A 50 km radius is a good starting point.  Often catering companies charge you a fee for transportation, so if you have a decent choice of caterers locally why paying extra. Only choose a distant caterer when you are ready to face this extra cost or the quality made the whole thing worthwhile.

Menu prices.

Most catering companies usually charge through a menu price. They charge from 50 to 150 or above per person. So, a wedding of 100 people at 100 euros menu per person costs 10k. Simple. But what does the menu price include? Is the open bar included? How many hours and what drinks? Does it include chairs and tables? Which type? After dinner snacks?… Don’t forget to ask all these questions.

Venue Fee for caterings.

This one is one of those costs that annoys people the most. You have your beautiful venue and have managed to find a catering to match your needs, and then this happens. Your venue charges a fee to your catering company for working during your wedding day. Really? Yes! But that is only part of the story. Your catering may not accept that charge and will force you to pay for it. So be alert, you could be looking at anything from 400 euros to 600 euros.

Contracted Service Hours.

Catering companies usually work for hours. From beginning to end, they have a specific number of hours allocate to your wedding. Staring on your cocktail and finishing with your open bar. Pass that limit and you could incur in extra charge for over time services. So, make sure, you know your time allocation before your wedding day and if you are going to need more hours of service negotiate them in advance to avoid surprises.

Menu Tastings

This is an important meeting in order to define the role of the catering company during your wedding. Check menus in advance and inform them what you would like to try, food and drink wise. Examine all the options, table clothes, chairs, cutlery, glasses… Remember to stay focus and ask all the questions. You don’t want to drink too much wine and then miss on this opportunity to nail everything down.

The truth is that booking the right catering company is often not an easy decision. Most clients don’t have the time or budget to be tasting menus from different companies, so they usually go with the 1st choice they try. They make their choice based on popularity which is not a consistent factor. Usually caterings which offer a great product, drop in quality after becoming popular. So, what is good one day, next year is appalling.  In addition, the menu tasting is designed specially to hide any flaws on the service and by the time you realise there is an issue is too late on the process to fix it.

We at The Boutique Wedding Co. carry out extensive research on catering companies and assist our clients all the way through the process to make sure every aspect is under control. We attend menu tastings to help each couple to make the right choices, and only work with the best people in the industry. Our knowledge of the best catering companies is completely up to date and we already have established relationships so why not call on the professionals to help plan your wedding in Spain.

Fain Viejo- Amanda and Jason

Amanda and Jason´s Big Wedding Weekend was a true international affair. Planned across 3 continents no less and guests from all around the globe! We started their wedding weekend with some fun Games and Challenges for the Groom, a Traditional Chinese Tea ceremony celebrated with a fantastic Tapas and Paella dinner with bespoke Sherry station by the Pool and a Flamenco extravaganza !

Saturday was the day for their White Wedding. A relaxed affair with lots of cute Spanish elements, plush florals and hundreds of candles. Complimented by amazing food, a simple white cake decorated with natural flowers and a Ferrero Rocher Tower! All in all these elements perfected their dream of a perfect wedding weekend in Spain!

A few words from Amanda and Jason- Having Lucy and Jesus at The Boutique Wedding Co plan our wedding in Spain this past May was undoubtedly the best decision we made. Lucy was the first and last wedding planner to whom we spoke. From the first introductory Skype call to the last chat before we flew out to Spain for the festivities, Lucy was unwavering in her enthusiasm and commitment in planning the wedding of our dreams. Throughout the 9 months leading up to the wedding, my husband and I were in different countries more often than not, and Lucy always accommodated our ridiculous tri-continent time zone differences (US, Europe and Asia) for our monthly calls. No questions were too many and no details were too small for them during the planning stages – Lucy and Jesus were truly incredibly patient and helpful. Their vendor, decor, and general recommendations were spot on – whether it be in choosing a DJ, finding the best bodega for sherry tasting or picking the color of straws. We trusted in their taste wholly and unconditionally – and our wedding turned out to be everything and more!! For both days of our wedding festivities, we can truly say we had no worries whatsoever. The events ran without any hiccups (if there were, we certainly had no idea and that is a testament to Lucy and Jesus’ work!) and all the details came together beautifully. Our friends and family have told us many times over how wonderful the wedding was and how they all loved Lucy! We are forever grateful to Lucy and Jesus for giving us such a lovely wedding & creating such wonderful memories. We cannot recommend them enough, and one needs to look no further if planning a wedding in the south of Spain! They are simply the best!! Thank you so very much Lucy and Jesus! xx

Lets Talk Weddings- Finding the Right Wedding Venue

Welcome to our Let’s talk Weddings… Section! Today, let’s talk about Finding the Right Wedding venue.

With experience, comes knowledge and being a member of the wedding industry in Spain for many years, has given me an advantage point to see things the way they REALLY are. In this Lets talk weddings section, I’m going to talk about all of those things that you otherwise have little chance of finding out, until it is too late! The things that perhaps might not seem important when at first planning your wedding, but nevertheless you should be aware off just in case they end up affecting your plans.

This is the section that will help you understand the difference between Venues/Caterers that offer to plan your wedding and an actual Wedding planner, why you should have two sets of chairs, why do the catering charge extra for delays on your dinner, or how venues sell their services. All aspects that will affect you, when you contract any professional Wedding services.

My name is Jesus and I look after all the logistics at the Boutique Wedding Co. I am the person in charge of making sure everything is in place so Lucy can work her magic and make your wedding look beautiful!

My only goal on writing these articles is to share some inside knowledge with those who have the time to pay attention to the smaller details. I completely respect the work of every professional in this industry, as long as they understand who they work for and who is most important… Our Wedding couples.

Let’s talk about … the right wedding venue!

The 1st thing you are going to think about when planning a wedding anywhere in the world is your Wedding Venue. It is without a doubt one of the most important elements of your wedding. For some couples, THE most important thing. Your wedding venue is the place where you plan to make all the magic happen. It is the location that is going to be a part of your memories for eternity!

There are many types of Wedding Venues old, new, elegant, posh, rustic, modern, comfortable, luxurious… but they all have one thing in common. Wedding Venues are designed to make you fall in love with them. At least the good ones are! Once you fall in love with it, the dreams start to take form and there is no stopping you. I have seen it so many times in the eyes of our brides. Sometimes our grooms as well.

Unfortunately, Wedding venues are a business and they don´t live in our Wedding dreamland. Quite the opposite in fact, they survive in a ruthless market with voracious competition, where numbers are everything and each wedding contracted is an important sale.

Only in Malaga province there are hundreds of them. They come in all shapes…Hotels with luxurious salons, and pools surrounded by palms trees. Palaces or mansions. Restaurants with great decor and an amazing food. Private villas with the best views which will give you a taste of how millionaires live…

But regardless of the type of Wedding Venue, they all want to convince you that they are the right venue for your wedding.

With that goal in mind, many venues employ sales teams to enhance their numbers. They are the people that first show you around and you misjudge as the venue manager. I like to call them, Venue Sales managers as that is a much more accurate title for their job. They work almost exclusively on a commission scheme and they oversee achieving the necessary number of events each year as any other business.

So here comes the problem, with popularity comes success and with success, over selling. So in reality some venues book as many weddings as they possibly can. During high season, sometimes 5 times a week. Some venues with different event areas, might hold 2 or more weddings at the same time. Other venues without the size, will try 2 in a day. One in the morning and one in the evening. They might even lock you in an area so the later party can access the venue. I find that utterly hilarious.

Since most people wish to marry on a Fridays and Saturdays, venues expect a minimum spend for those days and don’t give them away for a small event. Otherwise they charge a fixed fee to compensate for not qualifying for their minimum.

I remember once, I contacted a venue by the beach in the Cadiz area. I asked them about their availability, and they asked me about numbers. When I explained that my clients wanted a small intimate wedding of no more than 80 people, they claimed that that was not a wedding… and that, they reserve the right to hold another event the same day at the same time to compensate for my small event. I felt like I was giving them a problem and not a business opportunity. Fortunately, at the Boutique Wedding Co. we do not work with people who do not understand the value of our product. So I wished them luck with their business and hung up the phone.

With this amount of business each year, the venue premises suffer dramatically making it complicated to even maintain it to high standards. It is common sense that no place is going to look the same after hosting 150 parties, no matter how hard your gardener and cleaner work. That is why venue sales manager prefer to show you the venue during low season, preferably before high season starts.

If you think this is not the case, next time you are seeing a venue, just ask how many weddings they organize a year and see how the face of the Venue Sales manager changes. Don´t worry he/she will keep it reasonable, so you don’t run away. Next, look for signs of decay and imagine how is going to look the day of your wedding, if there is another wedding booked the day before.

Thankfully this is not the case for every venue. There are some Wedding venues who protect their product and understand that long term is more important than short term. That sales teams are less imperative than a venue manager who cares about his product. They cap their numbers and contract a venue team who maintain everything in pristine condition. These are the Weddign Venues that we choose to work with!

Lets be honest if the venue is beautiful, it sells by itself.

So, next time you are sitting down in a wedding venue considering whether it is the one for you, and you feel you are being sold too, perhaps too aggressively, with videos, photos and presentations, think about this post and do one thing, enjoy the cava and keep smiling!

We are professionals in planning weddings in Andalucia southern Spain, our planning service includes an extensive venue search and viewing trip! Trust in the professionals to help guide you through and book a wedding planner in Spain.

Natalie and Marty at The Ronda Mountain Resort

Natalie and Marty were just a delight to work with. Helping them to plan and design their wedding in Spain was a dream! We had so much fun creating every bespoke element and when it came to the look and style of their wedding, simplicity and style was key!

The wedding location was Ronda Mountain Resort , this is one of my favourite venues to work at! It always offers an amazing backdrop no matter how we set up the venue. The summer days are hot and the nights cool, which in Spain can be a blessing, especially in July!

This beautiful couple and their family and friends travelled all the way from Australia. Like many of our wedding couples, they and their friends were going to make a full holiday of the wedding, coming here for a few weeks and some people even more! Of course, travelling so far, you really need to make the most of it!

For each of our couples we create a bespoke website, this is a great source of information for their family and friends. We provide all they need to know to not only get to the wedding and have somewhere to sleep but also additional information about trips and things to do during their stay, should they wish to take a longer break!

As everyone is from out of town, we like to make it as easy as possible and look after the wedding day logistics for them so that no one is left waiting to get to the wedding or home from the wedding. Booking minibuses to ensure the day and night run smoothly.

Natalie and Marty´s day was relaxed and fun, an intimate group of just 40 people meant that everyone felt involved and everyone had the best time!

A few words from Natalie and Marty- So great to hear from you! We’ve been absolutely loving being married – it’s been so much fun so far! We’re both so happy and have even planned a second honeymoon to Thailand for January next year. I keep joking that we could keep taking honeymoons forever!

Marty and I have actually been meaning to email you to thank you for all of your hard work that you put into the wedding. It was absolutely perfect and we couldn’t have done it without you!

We really appreciate all of your support, advice and recommendations throughout the planning – all of the vendors you recommended were absolutely spot on. I absolutely loved Lottie and Linda (we had such a ball at the trial and before the wedding with all of the girls), Matt McGurk and the flamenco show were beautiful, the food from Gusto Marbella was so delicious and Ryan Fuller and the electric saxophonist were an absolute highlight! The dance floor saxophone is really something we haven’t stopped talking about and a memory we will definitely remember for many years to come! That’s not to mention all of the other vendors you liaised with on our behalf – the florist, the calligrapher.

We would also highly recommend for your other weddings Natasha (she was wonderful and made the ceremony so relaxed and fun which was just what we wanted), and Mireia and Pedro who were just so much fun (we’ve seen a couple of the ‘sneak peak’ pictures from the wedding and they are looking amazing!).

We (and all of our guests) couldn’t believe how hard you and the team worked in the lead up to, and on our wedding day. Marty and I absolutely loved getting to know you and Jesus throughout the process and there was a little part of me that was sad when you left the day after the wedding because it had been just so wonderful working with you.

We’d love to write you a testimonial for your website and do anything else we can to help your business. We both think you charge way too little for the hard work that you do, and we feel lucky that we were able to work with you before too many people find out how wonderful you are. I expect you’ll be fully booked out for the next few years and many more after that!

Lots of love,

Nat and Marty

Avalon and Chris at Hacienda San Rafael

Our last wedding of the year in 2016, was a fabulous couple from Canada; Avalon and Chris. They had a beautiful vision and dream for their wedding and worked closely with them to bring this all to life at one of Andalucia´s most sought after wedding venues: Hacienda San Rafael near to Seville.

For Avalon and Chris, we created a personal, intimate, fun and relaxed wedding with Rustic elegant vibes.

Here´s a Video Montage of some of their best wedding photos! We hope this inspires you to get married in Spain!  The photos were shot by Cooked Photography, who travelled all the way from Canada.

A Colourful Wedding at Castillo Santa Catalina

Pop along here to View Alex and Alethea super colourful and fun wedding images! Alethea and Alex  travelled all the way from Dubai for their wedding here in Malaga! We had originally started their wedding planning when they still lived in the UK but during the the process they made the big move to Dubai. Originally from Canada Alex is of Russian decent and Alethea Chinese.  With their mix of cultures and an international guest list, we knew it would be a colourful wedding day!

When travelling thousands of miles for your wedding in Spain accompanied by your nearest and dearest, comfort, convenience and ease is really key for everyone to have a good time! Alethea and Alex´s wedding venue search started at Castillo Santa Catalina, we travelled the usual 400 plus km with them to show them 4 fabulous potential wedding venues but for them it really was love at first sight and the beautiful Castillo Santa Catalina won their hearts!

Castillo is best booked for only one night, which does mean if you are looking for a two or three day wedding experience then booking alternative accommodation close by in Malaga is key. As the wedding venue is only 25 mins from the airport and 10 mins from the Malaga Beaches and City centre, it really is so easy and simple. What I love most about the Malaga Weddings is that it is not only an opportunity to enjoy the Spanish sunshine but also you have time to really absorb some culture. Malaga is a really cosmopolitan and beautiful City, there are fabulous bars restaurants and great accommodation of all prices ranges, so it has something to offer everyone!

Alex and Alethea were here for a few weeks. They had planned their Bachelor and Bachelorette parties for a few days before their wedding, followed by a dolphin watching boat trip and we had arranged for them a rehearsal dinner. Their wedding day began with a Chinese fetching and tea Ceremony. Followed by a relaxed Sushi lunch and then a second round of Hair and Make up and wedding preparations for the white wedding! It was a day filled with beautiful colourful details and many personal items that Alethea had made herself!  All of their friends and family that had travelled to celebrate with them did so with such heartfelt sincerity and love.

A few words from Althea and Alex- We feel very lucky to have had The Boutique Wedding Co. as our wedding planners for our wedding in Malaga, Spain in June of 2016. Throughout the 10 months of wedding planning, Lucy and Jesus were attentive, responsive and professional – from the venue selection, to planning the details of the wedding, and of course setting up and co-ordinating everything on the wedding day itself. In particular, our wedding venue (Castillo de Santa Catalina) had decided quite last moment that they would book another wedding on the day prior to ours, although we had already booked the venue for two days, months in advance. This could have been a disaster as our wedding day involved two ceremonies and we had planned an early start, whereas having another wedding the day prior would mean that the wedding party before us would only check out of the venue at 11am on the day of the wedding. However, Lucy and Jesus were able to negotiate with the venue to make sure that our wedding day plans were not delayed (and that we had somewhere else to stay accommodation wise the night before) and we hardly missed a beat on the day of the wedding. As this was a destination wedding, we had little knowledge of the local resources available to us. However, all the suggestions that Lucy and Jesus gave us (for bachelor and bachelorette activities, accommodation, local tours and activities for our guests, reception dinner) were exactly what we had hoped for, and our friends and family all had an amazing time in Malaga. Finally, all the elements of our wedding day came together beautifully and we could not have asked for a more perfect day! We would definitely recommend The Boutique Wedding Co. to anyone wishing to have a bespoke, beautiful and personalized wedding in the south of Spain!

Cortijo Del Marques-J & R

J & R are a super sweet couple from the UK! In 2015 they began their wedding planning journey with us, starting with their wedding  venue search! We had an epic trip planned, they had opted for a two day wedding venue search as they wanted to be able to view 5 wedding venues,  that were spread across 3 different provinces! As Andalucia is so big, this would have been impossible in just the one day as it was more than 550 km! We started our journey in Seville, viewing some truly outstanding Cortijo´s  and Haciendas. Next travelling down to Cadiz and Vejer de la Frontera where they viewed Casa La Siesta.  At the end of day one they were sure that Casa La Siesta would be their choice.

On day two we travelled from Malaga all the way up to Granada, passing the historic city and on to Defiontes about 19 KM north and then took a 4 km long rough track up to the wedding venue. It was late April and already scorching up there. Winding our way through endless olive groves with  the dust rising all around us as we drove. We pulled up at the venue and they were both so excited that they actually forgot to switch their car off and left it running for the whole hour we were in the wedding venue! Cortijo del Marques is an amazing property. Sleeping 40 people it was the perfect size for them. Additionally it has separate areas to celebrate each part of your wedding and a really beautiful Plan B, just in case! From the main courtyard we could see across to the Sierra Nevada, still snow capped from the winter. With the dramatic arrival, the beauty of the venue, its historical wealth and the stunning views these two were completely smitten!  They wanted a 2 days wedding and Cortijo del Marques was perfect, they could stay with all their friends and have a really fabulous and intimate time here!

A few words from J & R-Thank you both so so much for everything you did, leading up and on the day, to make our wedding day so great and special for us.  You both brought the dream we had to life, something crucial when you are so far away, so massive thank you!! Your kindness and input into our wedding will stay with us forever.

Right from the first Skype call you made us fall in love with your enthusiasm and pure passion. The ideas you gave were beautiful without you ever pushing us. You made what we described come to life and kept everything so unique.

Looking back when you drove us to see venues and came to our tasting, you must have been inundated with emails and work, but we never felt any less than your top priority.

At the tasting you provided your ideas and support with no pressure. We really felt as if we were out for dinner with 2 great friends 🙂

The day was beautiful – your friendly nature also made our family and friends so comfortable. You were on call for everything but I’m sure did problem solving to, but we never noticed a thing.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our day so memorable and perfect. Words can’t even start to express the ease and beauty of the process. We will never ever forget the part you played in our wedding.

We are thinking of you both so much and everyone who mentions our wedding also mentions how great you guys are, so thank you again.

Here is our Testimonial for you!

Lucy and Jesus gave us the wedding of our dreams – right from the venue searching to the day, and beyond (Lucy even offered to take my wedding dress back and organise me a courier to the UK!!) no job/idea was ever to small. I could not recommend this company enough – they personalised every detail in line with our ideas, and made our dream day happen – the biggest thank you – best of luck making people as happy as you made us – we know these two can do it 🙂 Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Much love,

J & R xxx

Mood and Back Films – Granada Wedding

For the Wedding of Laura and Adam at Cortijo del Marques, near to Granada, we worked with an incredible Wedding Videographer!

Steve form Moon and Back Films travelled to Spain to capture beautifully the wedding of Laura and Adam at Cortijo Del Marques, north of Granada.

“The wonderful Steve at Moon and Back documented our wedding on film. Steve is usually found shooting beautiful vineyard weddings in Australia so we were lucky to nab him during his summer break shooting weddings across the UK and Europe. Steve was free on our date and happy to travel so I took it as a sign…!  Steve did such a great job and picked us a fab ‘theme tune’ for our highlights film. He worked incredibly fast to send us a little teaser the following evening, a real goose bumps moment, which had me (and others!) in tears, a release of all of the emotion I had been holding onto. It was a pleasure to have him as part of our team.”

This was to become an unforgettable wedding.  Laura looked delightful in a bespoke made Wilden Bride Gown and a Mantila Lace Veil, accessorising with her favourite metallic rose gold! From shoes to belt and jewellery, everything was coordinated. Walking down teh aisle she was truly stunning.

From start to finish, working with Laura and Adam was so much fun! They both have the most fabulous sense of humour and both share our intense love of Spain and the Spanish food and culture! Laura and Adam completely embraced getting married in Spain. They made so much effort with personal decor and details, coming months before to deliver a huge suitcase of goodies! Laura and her bridesmaids tirelessly worked during her hen do to personalise napkins for each and every wedding guest!  Getting married near to Granada they wanted the symbol of Granada to be an important feature of the wedding, so come June we were searching every shop in Malaga for Pomegranates (Granada’s) a fruit that grows only during the winter months here in Spain.

You can read all about the unique efforts they made in the Love My Dress article here.

A quote form the Love My Dress  Blog

It all flew by in a beautiful dream and I wish we could relive it all. There were so many highlights but I guess my favourite parts of the day were all of those little ‘beginnings’ – the excitement as you start the ceremony (with sunlight streaming through the open doors and swallows tweeting in the trees), that moment you walk out together as husband and wife and finally get the chance to say hello to everyone. Just magical.”

A Declaration of Love at Casa La Siesta

We love each and every client that we work with, sharing the experience of planning their wedding together is a huge responsibility and trust has to be built. We worked with Emma and Rob for over two years to plan their wedding day in Spain and it was so beautiful to see their dream day come together so nicely!

Emma and Rob choose the gorgeous wedding venue Casa La Siesta for their September nuptials. We searched around Marbella, up in to Ronda and finally across to Vejer de la Frontera, to find Emma and Robs dream wedding venue. Finally when we walked into Casa la Siesta, they knew they had found their dream venue. As with many clients on our venue viewing days, we took them up to Vejer old town to see what the local village had to offer. They were bowled over by the quaintness of the village, the quality of the bars and restaurants, they had found a place they would now visit for the rest of their lives! Emma and Rob came and Visited Casa La Siesta a number of times prior to their wedding. I would always meet with them there and  on arrival was always struck by the calmness of the atmosphere and how relaxed they were!

We had been planning their big day for a long time by the time their wedding date came around. Across this time we had become very close and saying goodbye to them after their wedding was so hard. The long term planning paid off. Their big day was such an enjoyable wedding to organise. We had a great team on board and  the day of their wedding ran so smoothly, it was a day filled with happiness and smiles, a truly joyful day to be apart off!

The wonderful Photographs were captured by the highly talented Romance Weddings- Joseba Sandoval and his fabulous wife Mar!  Thank you for the wonderful images! When Romance weddings published to there Blog, Ruffled Blog approached them to share our work!

A Colourful and Fun Weekend at Casa La Siesta

Here you can view the images of  Kate and Phil’s wonderfully Colourful and Fun Wedding at Casa La Siesta. Kate and Phil are a gorgeous English couple who have spent there 20´s living and working abroad! They have literally travelled the world many times and of course have friends from all over the globe. Kate studied in Spain for University and loves the culture, climate, food and atmosphere so planning their wedding in Spain was a dream come true! Having lived across Asia they are also both so acclimatised to the warm weather,  that the thought of a cold rainy day in England just did not appeal to them!

They are the sweetest couple, so appreciative and they completely put their trust in us from day one. The first task as with all of our clients was to locate for them their dream Venue. One of my reliable venues that I will often suggest to my clients who are not planning a venue viewing trip and would like us to pick a wedding venue that suits their needs is Casa La Siesta.  If we believe it encompasses their wedding vision and we have discussed the venue in great detail with them, this process works very nicely. There are a few reasons as to why this works. Firstly, Casa La Siesta is beautiful, exquisitely styled, luxurious, sleeps a good number of people (20) is both close to the beaches and a very cool little Village that not only offers real Spanish authenticity but also a great variety of modern Spanish fusion alternative restaurants. There is no end of options even in the dark winter months!

Kate and Phil’s Wedding vision, was warm colourful and exciting! For them we created a bespoke 3 day wedding extravaganza where they relaxed themselves and enjoyed to the full time with their beloved friends and family!

The long term planning paid off. Their big day was such an enjoyable wedding to organise. We had a great team on board and  the day of their wedding ran so smoothly, it was a day filled with happiness and smiles, a truly joyful day to be apart off!

Some words from the Bride and Groom-

Where do we begin! We have to start by saying a huge thank you and expressing our heartfelt appreciation for the critical part you played in making our wedding day so special.

From the moment we starting speaking to you and came out to Spain to meet you, we immediately warmed to you and admired your passion for what you do. It was an easy decision to hire you as our wedding planner and we have not looked back – we have so enjoyed meeting you and getting to know you over the last 2 years and hope to stay in touch!

One thing we have loved about having you as our wedding planner is that you strive to make each wedding unique and personal to each couple. You took the time to get to know us and understand what we wanted our wedding day to be, and then made it even better than we could have imagined!

Throughout the wedding planning process you have been super organised, calm and in control – as a couple planning our wedding from abroad this is exactly what we needed you to be as it reassured us that everything was in order and safe in your hands. You have been so responsive at all times, keeping us up to date and making sure we were always on track. Even though we are sure you have been very busy, you always treated us as a priority and never ever rushed us. In fact, you have spent countless hours talking to us on Skype and over email and you have maintained your passion and energy throughout – frankly you have had the patience of a saint working with us for the last 2 years!

You created a venue shortlist for us based on our specification which led to us finding our dream wedding venue. Casa la Siesta is truly a magical place and was everything we wanted for our wedding and more. We really enjoyed visiting the venues with you and sharing your company over some wonderful lunches too!

You have such a brilliant eye for style and are totally up to date with modern wedding trends. All of the styling of our wedding was so beautiful and tastefully put together. Your calligraphy skills are also amazing! You did such a fantastic job with our wedding stationery, the seating chart and hand written place cards were so authentic and stylish and you must have put a great deal of time and care into creating these for us.

We were reliant on you to help us source all of our vendors from photographer to DJ to hair and make up artists, flowers and cake etc. We trusted all of your recommendations – which paid off massively! We were honestly so happy with everything and your advice and guidance was invaluable to us. Not only did you source the vendors for us but you organised everything so efficiently, making sure our requirements were understood perfectly by all and that a smooth schedule ran on the day itself – this took all of the stress away from us, leaving us to simply enjoy our day to the fullest.

On the day itself both you and Jesus were fantastic. You worked so hard dressing the venue and setting up various areas, we especially loved our fabulous dessert station and polaroid photobooth. You also coordinated all of the vendors and make sure the wedding ran perfectly in our eyes. If there were any issues they were dealt with discreetly by you without us even noticing.  It felt like you were always one step ahead and anticipated what we might need before we even realised it – just amazing!

Many of our guests commented on how wonderful you were and it was a pleasure to have you play a part in our wedding. We cannot recommend you highly enough and think that any couple would be lucky to have you as their wedding planner!
