Back in the office after a fun and hectic, 4 day wedding road trip to Seville. We have just had the hottest weekend of the year thus far for the spectacular wedding of Charlotte and Paul at El Esparragal! Temperatures reached a shocking 42 Degrees in the shade and 50 in the direct sunshine, at mid-night the temperature gauges in Seville were still reading 37 Degrees! Thank god Spanish hotels come well equipped with air-con and we all survived to tell the tale of an immense wedding day!!! We loved every second…..A Huge Congratulations to Charlotte and Paul!!
Thank you so much to Gem from Cotton Candy Wedding Photography who has kindly shared with us a Sneak Peek of Paul and Charlotte´s perfect wedding day! We LOVE your Photos!!!
But first a little Intro….
Charlotte and Paul found and fell in LOVE with Cortijo El Esparragal in April 2014. After a year and a half preparation, numerous visits to Spain to plan and organise, they were finally here celebrating their marriage. Their nearest and dearest family and friends gathered at the 21 bedroomed Cortijo and the additional 62 Guests booked into some of the super cool boutique hotels available across the hippest city in Andalucia, Seville!

The party started on Friday daytime with fun and frolics around the pool, with these temperatures there really wasn’t a better place to be! As the evening Cooled, the amazing staff at El Esparragal prepared the welcome Barbecue in the huge back courtyard. I have never seen such a cool Barbecue in my life! Huge pieces of meat cooking over open fires on the ground! Of course there needed to be enough for the 104 Guests arriving for the first time at this immense venue! Whilst everyone got to know each other and Charlotte and Paul took the time to catch up with old friends and thank everyone personally for making the huge effort to come to Spain to celebrate with them, Jesus and I got on with installing and testing the lighting set ups for the next day!
Waking up on Saturday morning in Seville, I think we were almost as excited as the bride and groom. We arrived early to the Cortijo and set about creating Charlotte and Paul´s Dream Wedding world! From cutting back trees, climbing 5 metre ladders, laying cables to Polishing Vintage vases, silver tea pots and arranging fans and flowers! We wanted to incorporate the organic feeling of the Cortijo with a modern vintage look. Draped Lace, Vintage pieces, delicate Gypsofilia blooms and the prettiest lilac Roses.

Personalisation of this wedding was key for Charlotte and Paul, so we had created many wooden and chalkboard signs to complement different areas of the wedding, all secretly personalised with their wedding stationary logo! I am happy to say that they were very happy and loved it!

Charlotte and Paul are crazy for candles and their brief was… ´we want thousands of fairy lights and candles everywhere´. With the importance of lighting we made sure we had plenty to hand and set about creating a magical wonderland! We used over 350 tealights, 250 Floating candles and 20 Pillar candles! It was so pretty from start to finish. The bride looked stunningly beautiful and the groom managed to maintain style and sophistication even through the immense heat! And at the end of the day they both still looked perfect!!

I have to say, in this heat, I was so thankful to have such an amazing team to work with. All of the suppliers and Jose and his team at El Esparragal are second to none and were at hand for anything and everything that we needed help with! At 10.30pm we were super grateful for the exquisite meal and we even got to try the Jamon and Cheese that the guests had had the pleasure to enjoy! The food, service, environment and overall experience at El Esparragal was amazing! Charlotte and Paul were so happy!
